The Stars Stood Up for the Longest Walk 2 The final leg of the Longest Walk 2 concluded with the presentation of the Manifesto which was accepted by Congressman John Conyers, & documentation of the Sacred Site and Environmental Protection concerns from across the nation.
This historic event was followed by a ceremony, Native American Drumming and Singing, and Traditional Welcoming. Harry Belafonte and Daryl Hannah showed their support and spoke at the opening of the event.
This American Indian Spiritual Walk for Survival was celebrated by free Concerts and Pow Wows on July 12th & 13th, on The National Mall . Throughout the weekend several guest speakers addressed the issue of global warming and the protection for sacred sites. Harry Belafonte, Danny Glover and Dick Gregory were among the supporters.
