A Message From Dennis Banks

Thank you for clicking onto our website.
When I just started putting these different webs together
I didn’t realize how many contact hits we would generate,
nor did we know the broad issues that many people are interested in.
We were off to a slow start, but as we mature with the computer I recognize
a duty to not only inform, but to help people in different ways, which may
only be a word or two of encouragement to keep strong and keep going.
I do welcome your comments and while I’m on the road often I sometimes
don’t look at the messages for weeks at a time. But don’t stop clicking,
and don’t stop the wait! I’ll eventually be back to you and hopefully
see you in person.

Ojibwa Warrior:
Dennis Banks And The Rise Of The American Indian Movement
It is my pleasure that we have released this book to the American public, which is predominantly an English reading society. The reason why I say this, is my last book was written entirely in Japanese for the Japanese public.
While this book touches on the historical events of AIM, two most important events were deliberately left out: One was "The Trail of Broken Ttreaties" 1972; the other was "The Longest Walk" 1978. These two events require an entire book by themselves because of their importance. Books which I will write and co-author with other participants.
Ojibwa Warrior ends with my return to the land where I was born, and of course, more chapters are forthcoming.
I hope you understand completely the reasons for the rise of the American Indian Movement and the great need for dramatic changes which we undertook.
Thank for you continued support and interest.
